The application of non mineral fillers in plastics may decrease

2018-02-27 11:25:09  hitsCategory:Application Area

On February 7, the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine of the people's Republic of China and the National Standards Commission issued 291 national standards, including the newly revised "express packaging products" series of national standards.

It is understood that the national standard series of "express packaging products" released in 2009 does not involve too much green environmental protection related content. According to the requirements of reduction, greening and recycling of express packaging, the newly released standard supplements and improves the relevant content of the original standard, making up for the deficiency of the green environmental protection content of the old version of the national standard. The new version of the national standard will be implemented on September 1, 2018. It is the first time to clearly put forward that "biodegradable plastics should be used for express packaging bags", and the requirements for biodegradable properties are correspondingly added.

As we all know, the use of plastic products is very wide and the amount and more. In the molding process of plastic products, a considerable number of products need to add powder fillers, especially non mineral powder fillers (calcium carbonate, talc, mica, kaolin, etc.) to improve some properties of plastics. In recent years, with the implementation of the plastic restriction order, all kinds of green environmental protection plastics have appeared one after another. In addition, the new standard requires that the express packaging bags should use biodegradable plastics to reduce white pollution. In the future, biodegradable plastics may gradually replace ordinary plastics, and starch fillers will occupy the market of non mineral powder fillers in plastic fillers.

About biodegradable plastics
biodegradable plastics are a kind of plastics which are degraded by natural microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and algae. Therefore, the research and development of biodegradable plastics largely depends on the utilization of natural materials. Starch based biodegradable plastics have become the focus of research and development in recent years because they can be biodegraded in a variety of environments, and their final products are carbon dioxide and water.

At present, in some developed countries, the use of starch raw materials has reached a very high level, especially the degradable plastics synthesized by chemical modification and copolymerization of these natural polymers have been widely used in some countries. For our country, we believe that with the strong support of the government and the joint efforts of various scientific research institutions and enterprises, the future of biodegradable plastics will be very broad.
